About Us

MoFin was founded in 2016 by Tyler Peters, a former mortgage-backed securities trader, and George Despotopoulos, a New York real estate attorney. MoFin began in the single-family rental loan sector, and we quickly expanded to meet the needs of our borrowers by providing fix & flip, commercial, and ground-up construction loans. Our goal has always been to provide our borrowers with flexible solutions, certainty of execution, and a simple, straight-forward approach.

Given his extensive background in renovation, he’s known around MoFin HQ as “The Toolman” (he’s always trying to fix things in the office and he loves the hit ABC sitcom “Home Improvement” — just ask him to give you the famous ol’ Tim Allen grunt on a call!).
